The team is now safely back in the US! Thank you so much for you prayers during our entire trip. God definitely answered them, and he used this trip in ways that we could not have even imagined.
The debate camp during the last week of the trip went extremely well, and it was a great way to end the trip. We were able to teach more debate to the students, but we were also able to interact with them on a personal level. Besides debate, activities included team-building games, movie nights, a color run, a water fight, and swimming in the river. At the end of the week, the students were very sad to see us leave, and many of them asked us if we would come back next year.
On Saturday, the team drove to Budapest, where we stayed the night before flying home on Sunday. I was extremely happy to be able to come home and see my family, but at the same time I will never forget my time in Oradea and all the friends that I made there. It was hard to say goodbye, and I definitely would like to go back someday.
This journey was so much different and so much better than what I expected it would be. I learned a lot and had many unique experiences in the past seven weeks. I’m so thankful to the Caswells for organizing this trip and working so hard to make it happen. I’m thankful to Thomas, Felicity, and Katie for putting up with me for the entire trip. You guys are the best. 🙂 I’m also very, very thankful for Adi, Lavi, Lori, Becky, Seia, Lala, and everyone else in Romania who made it possible for us to have this opportunity. Last, but not least, I’d like to thank YOU, all of our faithful supporters who prayed for us and encouraged us during our trip. This mission was truly a team effort, and God used all different kinds of people in all different kinds of roles to make it a success.
As I close this chapter of my life and return to my normal existence, I’d like to encourage each one of you who are reading this to consider missions. Maybe God is calling you to go somewhere to share his love. If he is, follow that calling! You won’t regret it, and God will use it to change your life.
Goodbye and thank you again!
